What is Home Hemodialysis (HHD)?

Home Hemodialysis (HHD) is a form of dialysis treatment that allows you to receive care in your own home rather than visiting a hospital or dialysis center. With HHD, blood is filtered using a dialysis machine to remove toxins, excess fluid, and waste products—just like traditional hemodialysis—but in the comfort of your personal space.

At Nephrox, we offer a fully-supported HHD program, where patients are trained to operate their dialysis machine independently or with the help of a caregiver, giving you more flexibility, comfort, and control over your treatment.

What is Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD)?

Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) is a form of dialysis that uses the lining of your abdomen, known as the peritoneum, to filter and cleanse your blood. Unlike hemodialysis, which requires regular hospital visits, CAPD allows you to perform the dialysis process manually at home, at work, or even while traveling, giving you the freedom to maintain your daily routine.

CAPD is a gentle and effective way to manage kidney failure, and it can be performed without the use of machines. Instead, you perform exchanges throughout the day by filling your abdomen with a dialysis solution (dialysate), which absorbs toxins and excess fluid from your blood. After a few hours, the fluid is drained, and the process is repeated.

What is In-Center Dialysis?

In-center dialysis, also known as Hemodialysis, is performed in a specialized medical facility where patients come in for regular treatments under the supervision of experienced nephrologists and dialysis technicians. During the process, a machine filters your blood to remove waste, toxins, and excess fluid, performing the functions your kidneys can no longer do on their own.
At Nephrox, our in-center dialysis facilities are designed to provide you with a comfortable and safe environment while ensuring you receive the highest standard of care.

What is a Kidney Transplant?

A kidney transplant is a surgical procedure in which a healthy kidney from a donor is placed into a patient whose kidneys are no longer able to function properly. For patients with end-stage kidney disease, a transplant can be a life-changing treatment that frees them from the need for dialysis and significantly improves their overall health and well-being.
At Nephrox, we provide comprehensive kidney transplant services, from pre-transplant evaluations and matching to post-transplant care and ongoing monitoring. Our mission is to offer compassionate, high-quality care that helps our patients lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
